Underfloor heating only warms the room if insulation cuts it off from below — otherwise half the heat goes into the slab. We make every layer laid under water and electric floor heating in Tashkent.

The build-up
The PPSL extruded polystyrene board carries the screed and has a 10 × 10 cm grid for laying pipes at the right spacing. Foil-faced foam reflects heat upwards. An edge strip round the room absorbs the screed's expansion as it heats up.
Questions and answers
Board or foil roll under floor heating?
On the ground or over a cold basement, an XPS board: it carries load and gives more thermal resistance. Between storeys a foil-faced roll is often enough.
Why an edge strip?
A heated screed expands. The strip round the room gives it space so it does not crack, and keeps impact noise out of the walls.
